Frost & Sullivan has selected Ormat Technologies, Inc. as the recipient of the 2006 Advanced Geothermal Energy Technologies Technology Leadership of the Year Award.

Ormat's global efforts in developing Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) technologies and finding applications for them in environment-friendly reliable power generation markets, including geothermal energy, have been recognized with this award.  Ormat's ORC is also suited to produce power from sources such as recovered energy while complying with appropriate environmental and economic standards.

Frost & Sullivan, a global growth consulting company, has been partaking with clients to support the development in innovative strategies for more than 40 years.

Ormat was honored with the "Centenary Recognition Award" from the Italian Geothermal Union (UGI) on December 10, 2005 at the closing ceremony of the program celebrating the first centenary of geothermal power.

The award was presented to Ormat in recognition of its "outstanding achievements in developing geothermal power generation worldwide".

"In recognition of the Company's achievements in furthering the goals of the Climate Technology Initiative, your dedication to fostering sustainable development, and your efforts to accelerate deployment and diffusion of climate-friendly technology."

This award honors Ormat's accomplishments in pioneering the use of geothermal power plants worldwide and its special attention to developing countries.

This award was granted in recognition of Ormat's outstanding contribution to the Export Expansion Program of the United States of America in 1995.

The award was presented by the late Ronald H. Brown, Secretary of Commerce at the US ExIm Bank.

Nevada Governor, Kenny Guinn, honored Ormat with the state's annual Distinguished Business of the Year Award for 2005. 
The award is presented annually to companies exemplifying good corporate citizenship, and recognizes the important role they play in contributing to the economic strength of the business community in Northern Nevada.
Governor Guinn commented: "The purpose of this Award is to honor those companies that choose to do business in Northern Nevada.  By coming here, Ormat provided economic stability and a bright future for Nevada".

In September 2005, the Geothermal Resource Council and the Geothermal Energy Association jointly presented Ormat with a geothermal industry excellence award in recognition of Galena 1, its new advanced binary technology power plant in Reno, Nevada.
Galena 1 was inaugurated in 2005.
This new plant, along with the other Ormat power plants in the Steamboat complex, will generate enough electricity to supply the 270,000 residents of the city of Reno, Nevada with clean, renewable energy.
Ormat was honored with the award in conjunction with the Geothermal Energy Association's Annual Trade Show in Reno, Nevada.

Granted in recognition of the Dedication of units 3 & 4 of the William R. Gould OrHeber 2,  Geothermal Power Plants.

Granted for Outstanding Achievement in the Development of Geothermal Resources in 1996.

Special Achievement Award to Mr Lucien Bronicki, Ormat Chairman and CTO, in recognition for his pioneering efforts in the development and improvement of ORC based geothermal power plants, and the continuing commitment to the geothermal industry.  Granted in 1994.

Ormat was honored with the First Prize Energy Resources Technology Industry Award for advancing mechanical engineering in energy resource  related technology, and specifically "Multi-Modular Commercial Binary Geothermal Power Plants Based on Proprietary Ormat Organic Rankine Cycle Technology".

The First Prize was presented to Ormat by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, 1990.

Ormat was honored in 1988 with the Award for Energy Innovation by the Department of Energy of USA, in recognition for its "distinguished contribution to our Nation's energy efficiency".
