Amatitlan,Guatemala

Our project subsidiary has completed the construction and owns a geothermal power plant in Amatitlan, Guatemala on a “build, own and operate” or “BOO” basis.

The project is comprised of one power plant, with a generating capacity of 20 MW, and rights to various geothermal production and reinjection wells. The Amatitlan plant uses our Ormat Energy Converters. During 2007, we commenced commercial operation of the project, which currently generates approximately 17 MW.

We are in the process of drilling additional wells to bring the project up to its 20 MW generating capacity and to explore the potential of the resource for future expansion.
